San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Chargers snapped their three-game losing streak, but it wasn't pretty on offense.

Fortunately for the Chargers, they faced an Oakland Raiders offense that was even more inept.

Philip Rivers threw a touchdown pass, Nick Novak kicked two field goals and the Chargers posted a 13-6 home win on Sunday.

A banged-up Rivers completed 22-of-34 passes for 193 yards, and Ryan Mathews rushed for 70 yards in his first action for San Diego (6-4) since suffering a right knee injury against Seattle on Sept. 14.

"We found a way to win, and that is what it's all about," Rivers said.

Oakland rookie Derek Carr was 16-of-34 for 172 yards. His final completion, a 28-yarder to James Jones, converted a 4th-and-9 from the Oakland 13. After spiking the ball to stop the clock with 11 seconds remaining in the game, he threw a Hail Mary pass that was five yards short of the end zone.

"No one's giving up, no one is going to give up," Carr said.

The Raiders (0-10) registered only nine first downs in their 16th consecutive loss, and they couldn't have gotten off to a worse start.

Miscommuntion on the game's first play from scrimmage resulted in a botched snap and a fumble. Donald Butler made the recovery for San Diego at the Oakland 22, and Rivers quickly connected with Malcom Floyd for a touchdown.

Later in the first quarter, the Raiders had a drive stall just outside the red zone and Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 42-yard field goal.

After a series of punts by both teams, San Diego was able to march deep into Oakland territory and went up 10-3 on Novak's 23-yarder with 4:12 to play in the second quarter.

Novak missed a 48-yard try to end the first half, snapping his franchise record for consecutive made attempts at 32. He nailed a 52-yarder in the third quarter.

The Raiders made it a one-score game when Janikowski was good from 25 yards out with 4:06 left in the fourth quarter.
