Inverness, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Inverness stayed on top of the Scottish Premier League on Saturday with a 1-0 home win over Celtic on a second-half own goal from Eoghan O'Connell.

The difference in the match came in the 65th minute when Marley Watkins got loose on the right wing for Inverness, allowing him to deliver a cross into the penalty area that was parried by Celtic goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska.

However, the ball struck O'Connell and redirected into his own net, handing Inverness its third win in four games to stay one point clear at the top of the table.

Celtic almost took the lead 10 minutes before halftime when Nir Biton rattled the crossbar, while Inverness came close as Gary Warren's header was cleared off the goal line by Charlie Mulgrew.

Inverness was the better side after the break and took the lead in the 65th through O'Connell's own goal, and the hosts had two good chances to add to their lead as Ryan Christie's curled shot went just wide before Nick Ross was denied by Zaluska in a one-on-one situation.

Ross County was denied its first point of the season by Chris Erskene's 86th- minute goal for Dundee United, lifting the club to a 2-1 win.

Robbie Muirhead and Sammy Clingan scored in Kilmarnock's 2-0 win over Motherwell, Hamilton rallied for a 2-1 win at Partick Thistle with goals from Anthony Andreu and Jason Scotland in the final three minutes, Steven MacLean's goal in the 80th-minute was enough for a 1-0 St Johnstone win over Aberdeen and Dundee edged St Mirren, 1-0, behind Peter MacDonald's goal 10 minutes from time.
