Cavs seek sixth straight win; host Orlando

(SportsNetwork.com) - Not since the days of LeBron James have the Cleveland Cavaliers won this many games in a row.

The Cavaliers look to extend their season-high winning streak to six games Wednesday when they return to Quicken Loans Arena to host the Orlando Magic.

Cleveland made it five straight wins with Tuesday's 114-85 besting of the Philadelphia 76ers, as All-Star Game MVP Kyrie Irving was one of seven players in double figures with 14 points. Irving didn't have to do all the work because the Cavs stormed out to a 64-43 lead at halftime.

Tyler Zeller had 18 points and 15 rebounds, Luol Deng and Dion Waiters both had 13 points and Tristan Thompson finished with 12 and 10 boards for the Cavaliers, who survived despite committing 21 turnovers. C.J. Miles and rookie Anthony Bennett scored 10 points apiece with Bennett grabbing 11 rebounds.

"You give the guys in the locker room credit. They've done a heckuva job throughout the course of the year. It's been a year of some ups and some downs and our guys just keep fighting," Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown said.

The Cavs are three games off a playoff spot in the East and last won six in a row during an eight-game run from March 8 - 24, 2010.

Cleveland has a 13-13 record at the Q this season. In injury news for the Cavs, Waiters left the Philly game with a balky knee and is questionable versus the Magic. Center Anderson Varejao missed Tuesday's game because of a series of issues and could sit again Wednesday.

Orlando has now lost back-to-back games since winning three in a row and opened a stretch of road games with Tuesday's 104-100 loss to the lowly Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center.

After defeating both Oklahoma City and Indiana during the winning streak, the Magic have dropped games to Memphis and Milwaukee. Arron Afflalo (21), Nikola Vucevic (19), E'Twaun Moore (17) and Tobias Harris (16) all scored in double figures. Jameer Nelson chipped in nine points with 13 assists.

"The game boiled down to one possession, give (Bucks guard) Nate Wolters credit for taking that shot and making it," said Magic coach Jacque Vaughn.

The Magic, who shot 50 percent for the game, have lost 13 in a row on the road and have a 3-24 mark as the visitor. They haven't dropped 13 on the road since a 16-game losing skid from Jan. 27-March 21, 2006. The Magic's last road victory was an 83-82 decision over Chicago on Dec. 16.

Orlando has lost the first two meetings with Cleveland this season and five straight overall in this series. The Magic are winless in their last three visits to the Q and will host the Cavs on April 2.
