In a matchup of Roadrunners, Javonte Maynor scored 17 points, Brandon Barnes 13 and Tyrone White and Adam Young 11 each for Cal State Bakersfield (2-5), which relied heavily on its first five. Maynor and White played 30 minutes, Barnes, Young and Carter 28.

Kannon Burrage scored 18 points for UTSA (3-4), which was plagued my mistakes en route to a 54-23 deficit at intermission. In the first half, UTSA shot 37.5 percent (6 of 16) from the floor — including stretches of 4:10 and 4:15 without scoring — and committed 20 turnovers, which Cal State Bakersfield turned into 27 points.
