Atlanta, GA – North Carolina forward John Henson did not start Sunday's ACC Tournament championship game against Florida State.
The school said Henson would only play in an emergency situation.
Henson injured his left wrist while trying to brace his fall after taking a hard foul from Maryland's Ashton Pankey in the first half of Friday's quarterfinal. He had the wrist taped and returned to the contest, but quickly exited again after pain in the wrist persisted.
Freshman James Michael McAdoo started his second consecutive game in place of Henson, who sat out Saturday's semifinal victory over North Carolina State.
Henson, the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year, was averaging 14.2 points with a conference-best 10.3 rebounds in 31 games entering Friday's contest.
