The Carolina Panthers released kicker Olindo Mare, among a number of roster moves Monday.

Mare, a 15-year veteran, spent all of the 2011 season with the Panthers. He has also spent time with the Miami Dolphins (1997-2006), New Orleans Saints (2007) and Seattle Seahawks (2008-2010).

Over 16 games last season, Mare made 22-of-28 field goals and 44-of-45 extra- point attempts.

The Panthers also waived defensive end Eric Norwood, tight end Greg Smith, guard Roger Allen, wide receivers Rico Wallace, Darvin Adams and Brenton Bersin and running backs Lyndon Rowells and Josh Vaugh and released punter Nick Harris.

Additionally, Carolina placed wide receiver David Gettis on the physically unable to perform list and placed cornerback Brandon Hogan on injured reserve.
