EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer will not play against the New York Giants on Sunday because of a shoulder injury.
Palmer, who was limited at practice all week, will be replaced by Drew Stanton, an eight-year veteran who has four career starts.
Palmer threw two fourth-quarter touchdowns in the season opener Monday night to rally the Cardinals over San Diego. The 34-year-old started all 16 games for Arizona last season.
Arizona starting defensive tackle Frostee Rucker also is out for the game.
The Giants' only notable inactive is rookie linebacker Devon Kennard, who pulled a hamstring against Detroit on Monday. First-round draft pick Odell Beckham Jr. also remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
