Buies Creek, NC – Campbell University football will kick off its 2012 season on Thursday by hosting a night game for the first time.
Kickoff for the game against Shorter is 7 p.m. ET at Ed Gore Field at Barker- Lane Stadium.
Campbell installed lights during the offseason.
"I think first games of the year are always exciting, but this one is even more exciting for us because we're going to be one of the first games played in the nation," Campbell coach Dale Steele said. "We have experienced so many firsts in this program, and we're going to have another one on Thursday night."
The Camels are coming off their most successful season, finishing 2011 with a 6-5 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the Pioneer Football League. It marked the program's highest win total since restarting the program in 2008.
