The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed defensive end Tim Crowder on injured reserve because of a concussion.

Crowder was hurt during last Sunday's game against Carolina. In 10 games for the Bucs this season, Crowder has 14 tackles. He has started 13 of the 41 games he has played for the club in three seasons and has compiled 103 tackles with 6 1/2 sacks.

The Buccaneers filled the roster spot by promoting safety Ahmad Black from the practice squad. Black, a fifth-round pick in April's draft, had been on the team's practice squad all season.
