Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Phoenix Coyotes have signed forward Gilbert Brule to a one-year, two-way contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Brule appeared in 33 games for the Coyotes during the 2011-12 season and notched five goals with nine assists for 14 points. He has also played for Columbus and Edmonton in parts of seven NHL seasons and has registered 43 goals with 52 assists for 95 points in 296 games.

The 26-year-old Edmonton native spent the lockout shortened 2012-13 campaign in Switzerland and this year has six goals with two assists for eight points in eight games with Portland of the American Hockey League.

Brule was selected by the Blue Jackets with the sixth overall pick of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
