Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson underwent surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back.

The Journal-Constitution revealed the 36-year-old had the procedure done on Monday, and that the veteran right-hander will be ready for spring training.

In 2011, Hudson finished 16-10 with a 3.22 earned run average in 33 starts for Atlanta. He was held out of a start in May due to back issues.

A 13-year pro, the former sixth-round pick of Oakland back in 1997 has compiled a 181-97 mark and 3.40 ERA in 378 games since 1999 with the Athletics and Braves.
