TORONTO (Reuters) - The Toronto Blue Jays have firmed up their pitching staff by signing free-agent reliever Jon Rauch and three current pitchers, all right-handers.
Rauch, who played for the Minnesota Twins last season, agreed to a one-year deal worth $3.5 million with a club option of $3.75 million for 2012, the Blue Jays said.
The 32-year-old likely will compete with the recently acquired Octavio Dotel to be the team's closer. Kevin Gregg, last year's top closer, signed with the Orioles earlier this month.
Rauch had a 3-1 record with a career high 21 saves in 2010.
The Blue Jays also agreed to terms with pitchers Shawn Camp, Casey Janssen and Jesse Litsch.
Camp, 35, accepted a one-year deal worth $2.25 million. He appeared in a team-high 70 games with Toronto last season, compiling a 4-3 record with two saves.
Janssen, 29, signed a one-year contract worth $1.095 million. He posted a 5-2 record with the Blue Jays last season while making 56 relief appearances.
Litsch, 25, agreed to an $830,000 contract. He went 1-5 in nine games with the Blue Jays before hip surgery ended his season.
