Blackburn saw its injury woes continue on Monday as it was revealed that defender Scott Dann will be out until February after he ruptured a testicle.

The former Birmingham man scored a goal in Rovers 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich on Saturday, but he will miss the next six weeks with the injury, leaving manager Steve Kean short on options in defense.

Dann has played an important role for the club this season as injuries to Chris Samba and Ryan Nelsen created a void in defense that the 24-year-old Dann has filled.

He has started 10 games in the league for Rovers this season but now joins Gael Givet, Martin Olsson and Michel Salgado on the sidelines ahead of a crucial stretch of the season, beginning with a match against last-place Bolton on Tuesday.

Blackburn enters the match in 19th place, four points from safety.
