ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – After spending much of last weekend flat on his back, EJ Manuel believes he's much better prepared to stay on his feet when it comes to handling the blitz.
The Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback on Wednesday said he dedicated much of the past two days practicing against pressure in light of his struggles in a 27-20 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday. When Manuel wasn't being sacked eight times, he was avoiding the rush by sailing desperation passes out of bounds.
He says he's learned a lot from the mistakes made.
It isn't going to get easier for the rookie first-round draft pick out of Florida State.
Manuel will be facing another attacking-style defense on Sunday, when Buffalo (1-2) hosts the Baltimore Ravens (2-1).
