Seve Benson birdied the first playoff hole Sunday to defeat Lasse Jensen and win the Kenya Open on the European Challenge Tour.

Benson, who birdied the final hole to match Jensen in the lead, posted a five- under 66 on Sunday. Jensen, the third-round leader, had a two-under 69 to finish at 10-under 274.

"I'm delighted," said Benson. "I knew I had to shoot a good score today because I didn't think it was likely that the leaders would be coming back towards me."

Benson made birdie at the first extra hole when Jensen could do no better than bogey.

It was Benson's third European Challenge Tour victory.

Phillip Archer fired a 65 on Sunday and tied for third with Tyrone Ferreira, who shot a 66, at eight-under 276.
