Munich, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Bayern Munich revealed Tuesday that the club has reached an agreement with Italian side AS Roma to sign defender Medhi Benatia.
Bayern swooped in for the 27-year-old after Javi Martinez suffered a serious knee injury in the club's German Super Cup meeting with Borussia Dortmund.
Benatia will join Bayern on a five-year contract, though the deal is still subject to the central defender completing a medical.
