The Chicago Bears signed defensive lineman Jamaal Anderson to a one-year contract on Thursday.

Anderson was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on July 10 after one injury- shortened season with the team.

The 27-year-old Anderson, a former first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons, appeared in Cincinnati's first two games of last season before tearing his quadriceps and landing on injured reserve. He had signed a two- year contract with the Bengals in March of 2012.

Anderson has recorded 132 tackles, 7 1/2 sacks and 10 passes defensed over 77 career games with Atlanta, Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
