Houston Astros pitcher Bud Norris left Wednesday's start against the Chicago Cubs with a left foot contusion.

With one out in the fourth, Josh Vitters ripped a fastball from Norris back up the middle. Norris kicked his left leg out to stop the ball from going into center field, but it struck his foot and trickled through the infield as Vitters cruised into first with a single.

The right-hander threw a handful of pitches to test out the foot, but he was unable to continue as reliever Chuckie Fick entered from the bullpen.

Norris was charged for six runs on eight hits and three walks over 3 1/3 innings, leaving him in line for the loss with his team down, 6-1.
