Astros outfielder Bourn suspended for bumping umpire

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The struggling Houston Astros received some bad news Tuesday when speedy outfielder Michael Bourn was suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for bumping an umpire while arguing a call.

Bourn, who swiped 61 bases last season, was ejected from Saturday's 2-1 loss to the San Diego Padres when he made contact with umpire Alfonso Marquez after the outfielder was called out during a ninth-inning play at first base.

Unless appealed, Bourn's suspension would begin in Tuesday's game in which the Astros, whose 10-21 record is worst in the National League, visit the NL Central Division-leading Cardinals (20-12).
