The Oakland Athletics placed catcher John Jaso on the seven-day concussion disabled list on Thursday.

Jaso took several foul balls off his facemask during the past two games against Houston and underwent several tests before flying home with the team on Wednesday.

Over 70 games this season, he is batting .271 with three home runs and 21 RBI.

To take his spot on the roster, the team recalled catcher Stephen Vogt from Triple-A Sacramento.

Also on Thursday, the team outrighted infielder Vinnie Catricala to Double-A Midland. He had been designated for assignment on Wednesday.
