Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics agreed to terms Wednesday on a one-year contract with right-handed reliever Tyler Clippard.

Clippard, who was acquired from Washington last month for infielder Yunel Escobar, was Oakland's last remaining player eligible for arbitration.

The deal was for $8.3 million, according to the Associated Press.

Clippard, who turns 30 on Feb. 14, had a 2.18 ERA in 75 games for Washington last season with a 7-4 record and 82 strikeouts in 70 1/3 innings.

The two-time All-Star has a 2.88 ERA in 420 career games over eight seasons, the last seven with Washington. He started six games for the New York Yankees in 2007, his first year in the majors.
