One day after slapping an Arsenal player match suspension, the English Football Association has handed another ban to a player from the London club, as it announced that Alex Song will sit out three games with immediate effect.

The FA upheld a three-match suspension for Gervinho on Tuesday following the striker's straight red card against Newcastle United in the opening weekend of the Premiership.

Song is the latest Arsenal player to be hit with a ban, as the FA announced that he will begin a three-match suspension after he appeared to stamp on the leg of Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton.

The Cameroonian midfielder will miss Arsenal's next three Premier League clashes when it faces Liverpool, Manchester United, and Swansea City.
