TEMPE, Ariz. – Not long after being selected with the seventh overall pick of the NFL draft, Jonathan Cooper was compared to Larry Allen, Randall McDaniel and Alan Faneca.

Cooper had yet to take an NFL snap, yet was being mentioned in the same sentence as two Hall of Famers and one who has a good chance of getting in as well.

The Arizona Cardinals believe Cooper has the skill set to join that lofty list.

An athletic 6-foot-2 and 311 pounds, Cooper has the strength to hold off rushers in passing protection, yet the agility to pull out in front of backs in the running game.

A four-year starter at North Carolina, Cooper was an Outland Trophy finalist and a consensus All-American.
