Archie Bradley might make it back onto the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks this season.
According to MLB.com, Bradley threw a sim game on Wednesday and a bullpen on Friday as he rehabs from tendonitis in his right throwing shoulder.
General manager Dave Stewart said that the 23-year-old righty could return to the team as early as September.
A first-round pick in the 2011 draft, Bradley has had a rough landing since being called up to the majors by the Diamondbacks for this season.
While he got off to an excellent start with a 2-0 record with a 1.80 ERA in April, Bradley gave up four or more earned runs in each of his four ensuing starts after coming off the 15-day disabled list for a sinus fracture.
Following his struggles, Bradley was then placed on 15-day DL retroactive to June 2 for his shoulder injury.
In his most recent outing on June 1 against the Atlanta Braves, Bradley was tagged for five earned runs and eight hits in five innings.
In eight starts this season, the former seventh-overall pick is 2-3 with a 5.80 ERA, 23 strikeouts, and 22 walks in 35 2/3 innings pitched.
