Buenos Aires, Argentina (SportsNetwork.com) - Former champion Nicolas Almagro secured a spot in the quarterfinals at the Copa Claro tennis event, which is part of the ATP World Tour's 'Golden Swing' through Latin America.
The fourth seed came from behind to beat fellow Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 on the red clay at Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.
Almagro, who titled here in 2011 and was the runner-up in 2012, will meet Jeremy Chardy in the round of eight, as the eighth-seeded Frenchman fought his way past Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3) on Day 4.
