Brett McClanahan scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures as Akron defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 87-60 on Wednesday night.

Alex Abreau added 16 points and Quincy Diggs had 15 for the Zips (8-5), who won the first game of a four-game homestand for their fourth victory in their past five games.

The Zips had 19 assists, 13 steals and only seven turnovers. Akron scored 29 points off Arkansas-Pine Bluff's 19 turnovers.

The Golden Lions (0-12) shot 39.3 percent from the field (22 of 56).

Akron led 50-36 at halftime and then held the Golden Lions to 37 percent from the field (10 of 27) in the second half.

Nikola Cvetinovic added 13 points and Brett McKnight had 11 points for Akron.

Savalance Townsend led Arkansas-Pine Bluff with 14 points and Terrell Kennedy added 12.
