The San Francisco 49ers signed linebacker Larry Grant and wide receiver Brett Swain to one-year contracts on Tuesday.

Grant, 27, played in all 16 games with San Francisco last season, making three starts and recording a career-high 39 tackles to go with two sacks and one forced fumble.

Selected in the seventh round (214th overall) by the 49ers in 2008, Grant spent three seasons with the Rams before returning to San Francisco in 2011.

Swain appeared in five games last season -- his first with the 49ers -- and made two catches for 15 yards. The 26-year-old was drafted in the seventh round (217th overall) by the Packers in 2008 and played in 22 games with Green Bay over the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
