The San Francisco 49ers released two-time Pro Bowler Brian Jennings, who was the team's longest-tenured player.

Jennings was the team's long-snapper the past 13 seasons. He had played in a franchise-record 208 consecutive games, and was among 21 players waived by the defending NFC champions.

The 49ers also placed veteran defensive lineman Demarcus Dobbs on the reserve/suspended list to reach the NFL's 53-man roster limit for the regular season.

Veteran wide receivers Austin Collie and Lavelle Hawkins, who have combined for 244 career receptions, also were released along with receivers Chad Hall, Kassim Osgood and Chuck Jacobs.

Also waived were quarterback Seneca Wallace, offensive linemen Carter Bykowski, Patrick Omameh, Wayne Tribue and Kenny Wiggins, cornerbacks Marcus Cooper and Darryl Morris, tight end MarQueis Gray, running back Jewel Hampton, linebackers Joe Holland and Travis Johnson, defensive lineman Mike Purcell, safeties Trenton Robinson and Michael Thomas and fullback Jason Schepler.
