LOS ANGELES – Three more people have been arrested for investigation of attempted murder in a fan brawl before last weekend's Southern California-UCLA football game at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena police said Tuesday.
The two men and a woman — children of a man arrested earlier — were taken into custody Monday evening after detectives interviewed witnesses and studied Internet videos of Saturday's violence that left two men stabbed, Lt. Tracey Ibarra said.
One of the two men who were stabbed remained hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday. The other was quickly released.
Six people have now been jailed in connection with violence that marred daylong tailgating before the annual cross-town rivalry game between the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ibarra identified the latest arrestees as Arthur Cisneros, 25; Anthony Cisneros, 22; and Akira Cisneros, 24. They are the children of Arturo Cisneros, 44, who was previously arrested for investigation of attempted murder. Each was held in lieu of $1 million bail.
The new arrests were first reported Tuesday by the Pasadena Star-News.
The four family members, all from the Winnetka section of Los Angeles, are not affiliated with either university, Ibarra said.
Prosecutors have yet to file charges against any of them. Ibarra expected the three siblings to appear in court Wednesday.
The Cisneros family could not be immediately reached for comment. No one answered Tuesday at two telephone listings for Cisneros residences in Winnetka.
The district attorney's office on Monday charged two other men with resisting arrest and other crimes stemming from the brawl.
The Rose Bowl's general manager has said the stadium operating company will review the incident and hold discussions with authorities and UCLA on what can be done to prevent a recurrence of trouble.
