The wife of Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman is taking over his title.

Early voting, mail ballot and early Election Day results Tuesday show Carolyn Goodman earned 60 percent of more than 45,000 ballots cast. More than half of all precincts have been counted.

Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani (jun-killy-AH'-nee) also campaigned for the job. Her campaign said she was preparing to concede late Tuesday.

Oscar Goodman is a former mob lawyer who presided over the city with a force of charisma and a bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin at his side. He was banned from a fourth term because of term limits.

He endorsed his wife for mayor and campaigned nonstop for her.

Carolyn Goodman easily won the April primary against 17 rivals.
