White House Senior Adviser on Election Night "It was a good night"

Senior White House Adviser David Axelrod says Tuesday's primary elections was a "good night" for Democrats.

Axelrod tells Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Major Garrett the primaries positioned "good, strong candidates who speak to a broader spectrum than the candidates the Republicans nominated."

Even though Pennsylvania Senator and incumbent Arlen Specter lost his bid against Joe Sestak in the democratic primary, Axelrod found reasons to be pleased, like the general election race in the Pennsylvania 12 district for the seat held by the late John Murtha. Mark Critz won the special election last night, defeating Tim Burns.

"PA-12 was the only general election on the ballot, and in it, a good Democratic candidate won the only district McCain carried in 2008 that Kerry had carried in 2004. He beat a Republican who ran on the anti-Obama, repeal health care message, in a race the Washington Republicans touted as a likely win. It was telling."

The one primary not resolved Tuesday night was in Arkansas, where incumbent Senator Blanche Lincoln (D) did not win a majority of the vote and will have to face a run-off on June 8 against Lt. Governor Bill Halter.
