Fox News' Major Garrett confirmed last night Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the group's No. 2 leader behind the Afghan Taliban's founder, was captured in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi.

TODAY, A U.S. OFFICIAL TELLS FOX: “This is a major player in the Afghan Taliban, someone with a lot of blood on his hands.  If he’s off the streets, it would be a serious setback for the Taliban in the near term and deal a severe personal blow to Mullah Omar, who has relied on him for years as a trusted associate.”
