UPDATE: 2:20 p.m.

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked about these meetings in the daily briefing and whether the White House has discouraged members from coming to cameras to talk to reporters. Gibbs responded, "no" and defended the administration's handling of such meetings when pressed about the fact that they're taking place behind closed doors.

"We put out the names of members of Congress that come here so you guys know whether they're here, whether they're on Capitol Hill, who's come and met with the President," Gibbs said.
