President Barack Obama has three events on his Monday schedule, marking Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

In the late morning, he and the First Lady will participate in a service event in the Washington, DC area. In the early afternoon, the president will host a conversation with a small group of African American seniors and their grandchildren on the legacy of the civil rights movement. And finally in the evening, the president and First Lady will travel to the Kennedy Center to attend the "Let Freedom Ring" concert which features nationally renowned artists and choir members from Washington area churches.
