A Secret Service officer who had been suspended by the agency earlier this year died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a shooting that occurred Tuesday after he left a court hearing.

USSS Uniformed Division Officer Arthur Baldwin, 30, was shot multiple times around 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 4700 block of 1st Street SW in Washington, D.C., according to a tweet from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

Baldwin's White House security clearance was pulled in April after he was charged in a domestic incident. He had been in court for armed break-in charges on the day of the shooting, but police told sources they believe Baldwin was the victim of an unrelated attempted robbery after leaving court.

Police say they are looking for three black males related to the incident.
