MANCHESTER, N.H. — Bernie Sanders supporters booed Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz as she stepped on stage to speak at a New Hampshire Democratic Party dinner on Friday night.
This year's annual McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Celebration dinner was one of the "largest gatherings of democrats ever in New Hampshire," according to Party Chair Ray Buckley. The event both honors Democratic leaders in the Granite State, and this year, allows for the Democratic presidential primary candidates to address voters. Hundreds of supporters filled the Manchester Verizon arena, with Sanders' on the left and Clinton's on the right.
Before the candidates spoke, Wasserman-Schultz took to the stage to energize the democrats before the upcoming February 9th first in the nation primary. But as soon as her name was announced, the Sanders side of the room erupted in low "boos" and the Clinton supporters cheered.
