Rep. Greg Walden has contracted an apparent case of H1N1 flu, Roll Call reported Wednesday.

The Oregon Republican would become the first member of Congress with a known case of the disease.

A spokesman for Walden told Roll Call that the congressman was diagnosed with the main symptoms of the flu, though he has not planned any tests to confirm that diagnosis. He is at home resting.

Senate and House pages have also exhibited H1N1 flu-like symptoms and Rep. Melissa Bean, D-Ill., stayed away from a recent event in her state because her husband and daughter were diagnosed with the illness.
