Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, returned Sunday from a fact-finding mission in Libya ahead of major House hearing Wednesday probing the September 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.

Chaffetz says it was clear those on the ground in Libya were denied requests for more support and personnel for the building in Benghazi.

"Rather than letting security dictate security, they let politics dictate security," Chaffetz told Fox News.

Chaffetz is charman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government reform. The Republican-led House subcommittee recently subpoenaed the leading security official at the U.S. consulate in Libya ahead of Wednesday's hearing.
