Reid: I Didn't Talk to Crist About Sitting with Dems

Someone is not telling the truth here.

Of course, politicians stretch the truth sometimes, but there's a whopper in here somewhere.

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, who is running as an independent after being forced from the GOP by the surging candidacy of Tea Party favorite, conservative Republican Marco Rubio, told the Wall Street Journal's Peter Wallsten that he had spoken with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV, twice in recent weeks.    The two, according to Crist, talked about the governor possibly caucusing with Democrats --- essentially that's a harbinger of how the person tends to vote -- think: Senate Independents Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

But not so fast, said Reid on Tuesday.   The Crist story, according to Reid, is not true.

When asked if he talked to Crist about joining Democrats, the leader said matter-of-factly, "Of course not. I'm a supporter of Kendrick Meek. I talked to -- I placed one call to Governor Crist, and I was glad I did that. That conversation was several months ago. If there comes a reason I feel I should call him on some issue -- he's the governor of the third most populous state in the country -- I'll continue to do that."

So, what's going on here?
