On the Menu at NYC Politician's Trial: $177 Bagel

NEW YORK -- A $177.64 bill for a bagel sandwich has made a splash at a New York City councilman's corruption trial.

Prosecutors have accused Councilman Larry Seabrook of submitting a doctored receipt for reimbursement as a part a scam to siphon discretionary funds meant for nonprofits. The longtime Bronx Democrat denies the charges.

Seabrook's case is one of several brought by federal prosecutors in Manhattan and Brooklyn in the past two years.

A bribery investigation resulted in convictions of a hospital executive and an assemblyman. And a state senator pleaded guilty to using donations collected for a youth program for a luxury apartment and other personal items.

Seabrook's trial resumes next week.
