The First Family has grown by four feet.

The White House announced in a press release Monday night the Obamas have adopted their second Portuguese Water Dog: a female puppy named Sunny.

Sunny will join the Obama's other dog Bo, that was given to them by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy in 2009 after President Obama promised his daughters a dog during the 2008 campaign.

"Sunny is the perfect little sister for Bo – full of energy and very affectionate – and the First Family picked her name because it fit her cheerful personality," the White House said.

The release says Sunny will join her "brother" Bo on his activities, including evening walks and the occasional Oval Office huddle with the president.

The White House says the Obamas are making a donation to the Humane Society in honor of Sunny's adoption.
