Eileen Murphy, a spokeswoman for the New York Times, is quoted in a new report calling Hillary Clinton loyalist David Brock "an opportunist and a partisan who specializes in personal attacks."

The comment, which was reported by Politico, was in response to a new book by Brock that accuses the Times of publishing unfair coverage on Clinton's presidential campaign.

In the book, Brock says the Times has become a "megaphone for conservative propaganda."

This year, the Times has broken several stories that proved damaging to the Clinton campaign, including her exclusive use of a non-government email server while she served as secretary of state and deals she secured with foreign entities that appeared to help enrich her and her husband during her tenure at the State Department.
