New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered that an ad campaign hedidn’t like be removed from the New York City subway system,The Associated Press reports.

The ads, which had been approved by the Metropolitan TransitAuthority, featured Nazi imagery and were meant to promote anAmazon video series, “The Man in the High Castle.” They wereplastered on the inside of the 42nd Street shuttle train thattravels between Times Square and Grand Central Station.Additionally, the ad imagery wrapped around seats on thesubway.

The show is set after World War II, and explores what may havehappened if the Axis powers won the war. Ridley Scott is theexecutive producer.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio labeled the ads“irresponsible and offensive.” Officials told the APthat Cuomo “ordered them removed.”

The MTA found itself in a similar controversy last year when itapproved an anti-Jihad ad created by activistPamela Geller. The ad, which appeared on city buses, was later banned by order of a judge.
