Gov. Mike Pence began his opening vice presidential debate remarks Tuesday night by thanking the wrong university for hosting them.

"First off, thank you, Elaine and thank you to Norwood University for their wonderful hospitality," Pence said. "It's deeply humbling for me to be here, to be surrounded by my wonderful family and Sen. Kaine, it's an honor to be here with you as well."

Donald Trump's running mate meant to say Longwood University, a public liberal arts school in Farmville, Va.

Within minutes, a parody Twitter account for Norwood University popped up.

Pence debated Hillary Clinton's running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, in Kaine's home state.
