Michelle Obama’s camp is insisting once again she won’t be making a run for Senate any time soon.

The first family’s team has had to fend off Michelle-on-the-Hill rumors before, but the murmurings still creep up.

The latest whispers come from Orbmagazine, which last week reported that Michelle Obama is being “implored” to move to California and run for the Senate seat now held by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who has hinted at retiring after this term.

The unnamed source of these claims -- described only as “a person familiar with [the Obama’s] thinking” -- says that the move to California would give the first lady a chance to “emerge from [her husband’s] shadow after 20 years and retake control of her own life.”

Still, the people closest to Obama say she has no plans to run for Senate or any other office.

Kristina Schake, the first lady’s former communications director, said on Tuesday, “She is as likely to put her name in contention to be the next pope as she is to run for political office,” Politico reported.

In May, President Obama issued his own denial of the claims on “Live with Kelly and Michael” saying, “One thing I can promise you is that Michelle will not run for office.”
