Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said Thursday on "Special Report with Bret Baier" that Hillary Clinton's embrace of President Obama moments after delivering his convention speech was "utterly inevitable.”

“When you've been a member of the cabinet or the vice president to a sitting president and you want to succeed him, there's no way that you can actually loosen the embrace, so you might as well ride with it,” he said.

Krauthammer added that Obama's speech contained one of the most astonishing lines of the DNC convention.

"In one sentence, he bracketed fascist, communist, jihadist and what he called, home grown demagogues,” he said. “As you know, I'm not a big fan of Donald Trump, but I wouldn't compare him to Hitler or Stalin and Usama Bin Laden. It shows you the depth of feeling that Obama has, and a lot of democrats have, about Trump."
