Jonah Goldberg, a syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor, told viewers Wednesday on "Special Report with Bret Baier" that President Obama's hesitancy to announce a decision on military intervention in Syria reveals his reluctance to get the United States involved in a precarious civil war.

"This is the most reluctant war I think we've ever seen a president get us into," Goldberg said. "He clearly does not want to do this."

Goldberg added that part of Obama's reasoning may stem from a feeling that Americans may be unwilling to become involved in another Middle Eastern war.

"I think there's a real attitude of...to hell with them. We've gone to war five times in the last 20 years in the Middle East to save Muslim lives, and every time we do it, we get nothing but ingratitude back."
