There is an impromptu vigil at Capitol Hill being scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET Saturday for Rep. Giffords, D-Ariz., and other victims of the shooting in Tucson.  Officials say at least 19 people were injured and five people were shot at a local event the congresswoman was holding in Tucson just outside a grocery store.

Giffords was shot in the face and is in critical condition, but authorities say they are optimistic about her recovery.

Attendees for the vigil in Washington will meet near the building and then walk to the Capitol.
