First Lady Michelle Obama says she tries to stay away from news, because she wants to formulate her own opinions based on her experiences.

In an interview with Fox News host Mike Huckabee, the First Lady said she reads news clips for the headlines, "but I tend and I try to keep home kind of a news-free zone."

That may be difficult since the Obamas share their home with the press most of the time. Nonetheless, Mrs. Obama has had some practice and has learned to leave work at the front door. "You know it's sort of like, when you work above the shop, you can't just bring work home," she said. Instead, she lets the President eat dinner and unwind with his daughters at the end of a long day.

As for the President, his press secretary has told reporters in the past that he tends to stay away from watching the news at night, though he spends a lot of time surfing the political blogs and online news publications. Mr. Obama has criticized cable news in the past, particularly Fox.

The First Lady told Huckabee that she's sure to watch Fox this weekend, in order to catch their sit down interview.
