Emailing Ben Affleck a Clinton priority

Hollywood star Ben Affleck apparently had Hillary Clinton's private email address, messaging her directly on the situation in DR Congo in April 2012.

"Dear Secretary Clinton," Affleck wrote. "Past attempts at military reform have failed mainly due to the lack of political will from the Congolese government … Yet we believe this can change, and the time for that change is now."

"Thank you for doing your part, Ben Affleck, Writer, Director and Founder of Eastern Congo Initiative," he wrote.

Clinton then emailed members of her staff the next morning, indicating she would like to respond directly.
